Shure readies new SRH750DJ swivel DJ headphones

Shure has just quietly announced their new SRH750DJ DJ headphones. One of the coolest features as far as we can tell is the detachable cord, which should make replacement due to faulty wires a thing of the past!

Let’s just hope that the swivel point on these headphones is sturdier than the Sony MDR-V700DJ (or 500). I’ve seen too many broken headphones just b/c of crappy construction quality.

Here’s the features they list on their site…

* High impedance and maximized power handling for DJ mixers
* Enhanced frequency response tuned to deliver high-output bass with extended highs
* Closed-back, circumaural design rests comfortably over the ears and reduces background noise
* Adjustable, collapsible headband with 90-degree swivel ear cups for comfort and easy one-ear placement
* Legendary Shure quality to withstand the rigors of everyday use
* Bayonet Clip securely locks cable into ear cup
* Replaceable ear cup pads ensure long product life
* 3m (10ft) coiled detachable cable provides plenty of length and easy storage
* Carrying bag protects headphones when on the go or not in use

They will be shipping sometime soon (likely November) for around $150.

If they are sturdy and that detachable cord doesn't fall out all the time, then these could be killer. I hope they fit like the Sony's do. The similar ones Technics make are uncomfortable after a little while of wearing.

^^ I've own both the Sony's and Technics. The Sony's are a fucking joke. They are the cheapest shits ever. I went through 2 pairs of V700DJs in like 3 years or so. I switched to the Technics and have been rocking them for the past 5-6 years with NO issues at all.

In the end, it all comes down to reliability and durability. The weakest link on all my headphones is the part where it swivels. I guess we'll see how these things fair in a few months. I think Xman is getting a pair.

I agree the V700's are ass. Worse pair of headphones I have ever owned. The only reason I got them was b/c I thought they were going to be like the pair of older Black Sony headphones I got from Crutchfield back in the day. I loved those headphones, I can't remember the model number but they stopped carrying them and I couldn't find them anywhere so I opted for the V700's and hate them still to this day. The only reason I got new ones was b/c this cock fuck broke my original Sonys at this party. I was hella pissed. f'n douche.

X you getting these Shures? let us know what you think. I like the idea of a detachable cord but I'm curious as to the sound quality and comfort of these. I don't use mine to the extent of most on this board but I'm always curious about new products.

Been using these for the last year, they sound AMAZING.

They are holding up really well, very tough on the swivel point and have this technology called S-Logic™ that really does clear the sound up. Not the cheapest, but worth the price if you ask me.

Crazy! i never seen them... I wonder if the sound is really accurate in addition to sounding good--knowha'imeen? I don't get to turn up my monitors much anymore so, do a lot in the headphones.... had been thinking of getting a pair of the "cheaper" Grado models....

Anybody tried these Sure headphones yet?? I'd like to get some new ear-cans and can't decide between these and the Grado SR60i. I wouldn't be using the Grados for DJing, obviously, but hopefully for making beats and stuff.

Naw, but I am weary of anything with swiveling parts. That shit is usually the first thing to break.

I am sure the Shure's are better ;) than my Sony equivalents.

As for Grado...yeah my boss has them. They sound great, but I wouldn't drop that kinda money on them. They aren't enclosing enough for DJing. The ear piece doesn't cup your ear and close off club noise. Which is what you need IMO. Go Shure.

technics all day for me! They got a different swivel than all that i have tried and it works perfect for how i monitor/cue up mix!

i am not a fan of headphones that "enhance" the sound for djing. If my signal sounds like shit i wanna know it and not be suprised when it comes out the master. Looks like those do something to the pan of signal and create surround type sound...wouldn't work for me when cueing up old tracks from 60's and 70's which vary alot in the panning of mix.

Shure's in-ear series are excellent imo so the srh750's might be rock solid also
